During the last 20 years in Critical Care, Dr. Vaishali Solao has managed all types of emergencies. She has handled medical illness - septicaemia with multi organ failure, respiratory failure, poisonings, diabetic emergencies, gastrointestinal bleeds, oncologic emergencies, strokes also surgical illness like acute abdomen, trauma etc. In the coronary care unit, she has managed acute myocardial infarction, acute LVF, arrhythmias and tamponade. In the Post CABG unit, Dr Vaishali has learned to manage the post-operative care of bypass patients & also been involved in managing obstetric emergencies like HELLP, PPH etc. For the last 10 years, Dr Solao has been involved in Liver Intensive Care primarily. She has helped to set up the first Liver ICU in the country, where she led a dedicated team of intensivists who specialized in managing Liver Failure of various ecologies. She has vast experience of managing Acute Liver Failure, Acute on Chronic Liver Failure & bridging them to transplantation. She has authored multiple chapters on the subject of Liver failure.
