Education: Dr. Harsha Kumar completed his MBBS from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Belgaum. He then went on to do MD in Internal Medicine from Vijayanagara Institute of Medical Sciences, Bellary. He has also successfully completed DM in Nephrology from Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh. Work Experience: Dr. Harsha has medical experience of 13 years. He started his work in 2008 at VIMS. Since then, he has worked at various Government institutions improving his knowledge & skills with every passing year. During his tenure at these institutions he has been a professor and has trained undergraduate & postgraduate students. He has worked at various private hospitals as Consultant in Nephrology & Transplant physician during which he was actively involved in establishing dialysis units. He has Started SLED, Plasmaphressis , Haemoperfusion and CRRT program for the first time in Krishnagiri district in Tamil Nadu. Professional skills: • Non tunnelled internal jugular and tunnelled HD permcath insertion. • CAPD soft catheter insertion more than 40 done independently. • Has performed more than 1000 real time ultrasound guided native and graft kidney biopsies. • Has created more than 50 radio cephalic arteriovenous fistula independently. • Treating and managing all type of Glomerulonephritis, AKI and CKD patients. • Trained in conducting and managing renal transplant patient. • Attended workshop and certified in Good Clinical Practise. • Attended workshop and Certified by International Society of Renal Nutrition and Metabolism held in New Delhi in October 2016. • Has independently conducted and managed more than 30 renal transplant and assisted in more than 300 transplant. • Has received travel grant to attend APSN Conference held in Beijing, China in March 2018. • Has published 3 original research article in International Journal and has got 42 citation.
