Dr. Mitu Shrikhande completed her post graduation in Medicine from the prestigious Armed Forces Medical College in 2000. She received training in Clinical Haematolgy at AIIIMS, New Delhi and subsequently she joined as a Lecturer in the Department of Haematology at Seth GS Medical College KEM Hospital in Mumbai. She received her training in Stem cell Transplant at the Army Hospital (RR ), New Delhi where she also was involved in research projects under the ageis of Department of Biotechnology on the role of autologous stem cells in patients with critical limb ischemia. Her clinical interest lies in Haematology, in diagnosis and management of both benign and malignant haematological disorders including leukemias, lymphomas, multiple myeloma, complicated anemias, sickle cell disorders, hemoglobinopathies, ITP, Hemophilias, PNH, Aplastic anemia, MDS, Thrombophilias, bleeding and coagulation disorders in adult patients. Striking a right balance between treatment efficacy, its toxicity and cost is her major goal in the management of all her patients. A special emphasis is laid on the counselling of the families in holistic patient management and targeting better treatment outcomes. She has several publications both in national and international peer reviewed journals.
