Dr. Prashant Saxena is the Director and Head of Pulmonology, Critical Care & Sleep Medicine at Fortis Hospital, Vasant Kunj. Dr. Prashant's key areas of expertise include Interventional Pulmonology, Intensive Care & Sleep Medicine. Dr. Prashant underwent ICU Fellowship training in Westmead and Liverpool Hospitals, Sydney, Australia. He has undergone training in Interventional Pulmonology from Greece, Thoracoscopy from France, and Pediatric Bronchoscopy from Italy. He has undergone an Executive management programme in health (EMPH) from Virginia University, USA. Due to his keen interest in infection control, he has developed simple but effective infection prevention bundle protocols which have significantly reduced hospital-acquired infection rates. He has developed and implemented Antibiotics Stewardship programs in order to prevent the emergence of Antibiotic resistance & decrease preventable hospital-associated infections and the cost of treatment. He introduced the concept of a Rapid Response Team for patients in order to decrease the number of unexpected events in the hospital. He has many awards, publications, and presentations credited to his name. He is a teacher for IDCCM (Indian Diploma in Critical Care) and an Examiner, Teacher & Supervisor for MRCP (UK), Royal College of Physicians of the United Kingdom. He is actively involved in organizing community health programs, CME’S , workshops & health awareness talks in India & abroad.
